Rustic Wedding Venue

I loved capturing Emily and Dan’s wedding a few weeks ago. They picked an astounding venue to get married in. It was The Ashes in Endon, Staffordshire. I was elated at the opportunity of working at The Ashes again, it’s a venue that I enjoy every time I work there.

The Old Dairy was a perfect place to begin Emily’s wedding photography. The details, the atmosphere, the smiles; bridal prep is abundant in moments. Emily arrived with her bridesmaids in a vintage split screen VW Camper Van which was owned by her Dad. A lovely way to arrive at the venue.

Barn Wedding Venue

Whilst Emily was getting ready the guests began arriving and Dan was there to welcome them. It was time for Emily to make her way across the courtyard to the West Barn to get married. It was lovely to watch Emily and Dan demonstrate their commitment to each other during their ceremony.

After the ceremony the wedding party enjoyed a lovely reception at The Ashes. Laughter and love filled the air as more drinks were served. I mingled around the wedding party shooting the guests candidly whilst they enjoyed their drinks. I always fall in love with Spring weddings. We had a spot of sunshine in the morning followed by cloudy skies which stayed around for most of the day, but clouds create lovely soft light, which really help with the photographs.

The speeches were held before the meal. The guests were eager to hear what the speakers had to say. It’s a difficult job for a wedding photographer to photograph speeches, because it’s all about the words, so you have to look for the emotions being reflected in the way people react to the words to tell the story. Everyone took to the dance floor at the end of the day after the DJ played some incredible tunes.

I knew it was going to be an awe-inspiring wedding when Emily and Dan booked me to photograph it and I wish them all the best.
