Emma and Chris came to see me last year about booking their wedding photography at the very grand Pendrell Hall in Staffordshire. I’ve worked at this venue a few times. It’s just a wonderful venue both inside and out so you can see why Emma and Chris decided to get married there.

Relaxed Wedding photography

Pendrell has some fantastic accomodation and so I captured both Emma and Chris’ preparation at the venue. Emma in the powder room and Chris in one of the luxuy suites. Emma’s prep was fantastic to capture from a storytelling point of view because there were lots of people in the room doing all kinds of last minute jobs adding to the anticipation of the wedding. It gave me a great opportunity to capture lots of context to set the scene for the day. The very talented Emma Shackleton was present to make sure all the ladies looked their best.

Storytelling photographs

Chris was a few doors away using youtube to learn how to tie his cravatte and once he became a master at it- everyone got in line to have their’s tied by Chris. We went for a little wander with the ushers before it was time to get ready for the ceremony.

After a lovely ceremony we had lenty of good weather to wander around the gardens for some portrait shots before heading back to the hall to capture some more documentary photographs of the wedding guests doing their thing! Having fun!

Moments, expressions and reactions

After the wedding breakfast the speeches began and there were some really funny stories going around as you can see from the smiles and laughter in the photographs. Cake cutting and first dance was swiftly followed by the bouquet throw and a quick wander outside for a night shot with the grande building as our backdrop.
