The Ashes Wedding Photography – Laura and Claire

Laura and Claire booked me as their wedding photographer to capture their beautiful wedding day at the Ashes Wedding Venue in Endon, Staffordshire. This was the first female same sex wedding I had captured and it was also rare because they had a first look. First looks are very common in America but much less so here in the UK.

A first look is where the couple see each other before the ceremony and before their guests have seen them. It can be a nice way to relieve some of the pressure of the ceremony if you are particularly nervous about that. Here’s another example of a first look I captured at The Ashes.

Claire got ready on her wedding morning at Middle Cottage in Endon whilst Laura did her prep at The Old Dairy at the Ashes. Once Claire had finished getting ready she arrived in style via a vintage camper van. Blue pumpkin provided the transport and it’s always a pleasure to capture Tilly at The Ashes.

One of my favourite photos of the day was when Laura and Claire had both arrived at the end of the aisle and the moment really hit home with them. It’s a lovely moment to see how both of them handled it in their own different way.

I have to give Claire a lot of credit for delivering the most heartfelt speech to Laura – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Enough nattering from me, here is their beautiful day …
