About Cheshire
There’s plenty to see and do in the county of Cheshire in Northwest England – from the markets and food halls of Manchester, to nearby parks including Tatton Park, Dunham Massey and Lyme Park, to outlet shopping, the Chester Zoo and the Peak District National Park.
The county seat of Cheshire is the walled city of Chester which sits less than two miles from the Welsh border. Chester offers a unique visitor experience – the town was founded over 1,000 years ago and is home to the ruins of a Roman settlement. It is renowned today for preserving such complete city walls as well as its distinctive “black and white” Victorian architecture. Your guests will be thrilled if they have time to visit this English gem!
Pendrell Hall Wedding Photography
Pendrell Hall wedding photography is a joy to capture. Sarah and Craig were married at the spectacular Hall in Staffordshire. I’ve known Sarah for over 2 years as she works at my most recomended wedding venue The Ashes. Sarah and Craig asked me to capture the story of their wedding and I jumped at the chance of capturing their
Pendrell Hall wedding photography because it is a venue I have always loved working at.
Pendrell Hall is in complete contrast to The Ashes because it is a very grand house as opposed to a set of rustic barns. It is no less awesome and it is well looked after by Ben and Sarah Reeves and serviced by
Ensarb Catering who make some of the best wedding food you will ever taste.
Stop Motion Video
Sarah and Craig also had a stop motion video done which can now be purchased with my Extended Media Package. Here’s their video for their day

Location of Pendrell Hall
Pendrell Hall is situated in the city of Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands in south Staffordshire. The city of Wolverhampton was founded in 985 by Lady Wulfrun; her name is the origin of the city’s name. Since the 18th century, Wolverhamptom has been known for various artistic productions from steel jewelry to sculptures. The city held a close place in Queen Victoria’s heart as the city erected a statue in memory of her late husband, Prince Albert in 1866, and as the story goes, Queen Victoria was so moved by the statue she knighted the mayor as a gesture of thanks.
Pendrell Hall sits on Wood Road, just off the M54. The Hall is easily accessible from across the United Kingdom. The nearest train stations are located in Codsall and Albrighton. Those flying in for the ceremony will be delighted that the Birmingham Airport is merely 33 miles and a 45-minute drive away, and the Liverpool Airport is 76 miles from the Hall. Guests driving from London can reach the Wedding Venue in just under three hours.
History of Pendrell Hall
Built in 1870, and originally named “Pendryl Hall,” Pendrell Hall’s first owner was Edward Viles, an author of short stories. The last family to live in Pendrell Hall was the Frank Gaskell family, who lived onsite from 1909 until 1955. Photographs remain of this time, including of Frank and his soon Ernest, the servants of the manor, the billiard room, and the carriage and driver for the family. Frank was the son of Holbrook Gaskell, a chemist who made his wealth through the production of sodium carbonate.
The Staffordshire City Council purchased the property in 1955. The Hall was then used as a residential college for many decades until sold to its current owners and converted to a unique Wedding Venue. Notably, Pendrell Hall was listed as a Grade II property in 2011 due to its unique and well-preserved architecture and interiors.
