Snowy Winter Weddings
January is always a tricky month to get married. You are hedging your bets that the weather is going to be ok! What that normally means in this country is:
“I hope it doesn’t rain!”
On this particular Thursday at The Ashes Wedding Venue there was a rumour we would get some snow! That morning it looked about as likely that it would snow as I would win the lottery. But as the day went on a few flakes started to fall and I wondered – Would we get a Winter Wonderland White Wedding here?
Well, it came down thick and it came down fast and within about an hour the entire Ashes Venue was coated in a beautiful layer of the cold white stuff! It looked fantastic and Wendy was not worried at all, in fact she was thrilled that we had such a beautiful scene on her wedding day.
Eamon had no problem arriving as he was only staying round the corner at Middle Cottage in Endon, and Wendy was getting ready in The Old Dairy at The Ashes so she had no trnsport worries at all! The actual wedding had to be delayed by an hour to enable the majority of the guests to arrive but when it finally happened it was a beautiful ceremony with lots of emotion. Weddings like that are a dream for a wedding photographer to capture.
Wedding Photographs in the Snow
When you are a wedding photographer you dream about being able to take wedding photos in the snow, and you might go years without it ever happening. I mean we hardly ever get snow here in the Uk that’s proper snow, even at winter weddings. So when it does happen you just hope you have a couple who are brave enough to actually go out in it. Wendy and Eamon were awesome.
Just have a look through this storyboard to see what I mean. You can see the full wedding here.
