Staffordshire Moorlands Wedding Photography

Cathy and Rob’s wedding was an absolute blast. I’ve known Cathy and Rob for 20+ years as I used to teach them both long before I ever picked up a camera. It’s really fun attending weddings of ex students as I get to chat to folk I used to teach and see what they are up to these days. Amazes me how many of them still remember me, but then I suppose you always remember a good teacher 🙂

I started the day at Cathy’s house in Rudyard which her and Rob had only recently bought. A lovely cottage inhabited by their two house cats. Cathy is so full of energy and smiles that it makes it super easy to photograph her.

Macramé and hand made wedding favours

Cathy is a very crafty bride – and by that I mean she’s artistic and full of talent. She spent months making all of the wedding decorations and favours and they really suited her off beat wedding. Cathy and Rob were married in a village hall in the Staffordshire Moorlands and their ceremony was different to say the least. During the middle of it they took a break from their vows to sing I’ve had the Time of my Life from Dirty Dancing – which was a lovely fun moment during the proceedings.

Location Scouting – Wedding Photos in the Countryside

After the ceremony we had a drive into the countryside to find a couple of locations for some natural wedding portraits. We used a field and a barn as a backdrop and with a low autumn sun we got some fantastic shots. Then it was back to the village hall for an early first dance and onto the speeches.

The evening kicked off with another first dance (maybe second dance :-)) and we managed to get out and grab a few night photos down the lane.

All in all it was a super fun day and one of my fav weddings of 2023.
