What a year it has been.
I’ve put together a collection of my favourite wedding photographs taken at The Ashes Wedding venue over the last 12 months. I’ve been blessed to have worked with a ton of awesome couples this year. I found it hard to choose a collection as there were so many amazing weddings.
Jon and Rachels early spring wedding started the year off and you have to take your hat off to a bride who is willing to stand in the rain to ensure wwe could take advantage of the stunning backdrops of The Ashes front lawn and lake.
Then came Katherine and Jonnys wedding which rained all morning and then stopped right at the moment they got married.
Sarah and Lee were next and I’ve not see a brighter wedding yet. It was chalk and cheese with the day before with glorious sunshine!
Matt and Steph kicked off the July wedding season with one of the hottest weddings of the year and I can say to this day I have still not seen that much bunting, bridcages and general wedding decoration at a wedding since, and I doubt I will. The Ashes wedding Event Planners had their work cut out putting all of it up but it looked fantastic. The great things about having your wedding at The Ashes is it is effectively a blank canvas that you can make your own.
Amiee and James were next and they win the award for the most fun games at a wedding this year. Groom prep started with football at brough park and the wedding ended with a tug of war in The Ashes courtyard. My favourite moment from that wedding was all the laughter during the ceremony as the registrar struggled to pronounce James’ surname.
Alicia and Paul were next and that wedding still has my favourite ceremony moment of the year. As her dad was about to give her away the glance across her shoulder as they both contemplated letting go of each others hand. Fast forwarded me to the day that will happen with my little Daisy.
Claire and Jason put on a fantastic vintage fayre in the east barn with some traditional games that made a fresh change for a wedding.
Hayley and Simon had their wedding in August and I will not forget the groomsmens awesome superhero cufflinks.
Sally and Chris brought a salsa dancing lesson to their wedding and it looked so much fun to see their friends and family dancing along in the barn.
Then we had Rachael and Gary – Gary gets the award for the most nervous groom in 2014 and it was such a beautiful ceremony.
Leah and Rich were married on a lovely summers day and it was the first outside first dance I have photographed which was done on the front lawn outside the majestic house. A lovely moment.
Then we had Peter and Emma who used my favourite wedding transport supplier Blue Pumpkin to transport themselves around. Always a joy to work with Richard.
Alex and Helen introduced me to the crepe at a wedding in october and it was delicious. They also surprised their guests with the fantastic Host-a-Roast from Jenkinsons caterers.
Then I finished the season at The Ashes with a magical christmas wedding in December for Jenny and Dave. A favourite moment being in around a group of lovely people during the festive period was a joy.
Well, thats enough remniscing. Here are the pics in a totally random order – kind of like a brain dump 🙂
